Adverse Weather Conditions

There are occasions when adverse weather conditions cause the College to close – floods, snow etc. On these occasions, the Principal will take the decision and inform Shropshire Radio by 7.00am. The radio station will make regular announcements. You should therefore listen to Radio Shropshire from 7.00am to find out the latest situation. Updates will be available on Moodle.

Remember that there is subject information on Moodle that should enable you to continue to study even whilst not at college.

Exam Period

If you cannot get to the college to do the exam due to the snowy weather conditions, then you will need to do the following:

  • contact the college to let them know immediately on the morning of the exam. Do not leave a message.
  • bring a letter from your parents confirming the reason for not attending the exam and bring it to the exams office when you are able to get in.
  • it is your responsibility to apply for the exam through the resit form system in March so that you can sit it in the summer. This will not happen automatically.
  • please ensure that you communicate with the college and the exams office.

The above is a précis of the information available to students on the front page of Moodle.
