Young Photographer Success

Fergus McKeown has been awarded first prize in Hereford Photography Festival’s ‘Young Person’s Photographer Competition’.

Fergus, now in his second year at the College, took the winning entry as part of his AS Photography coursework in which he was exploring those moments when a perfectly ordinary event turns to chaos. The judges felt Fergus’ photograph perfectly encapsulated the Competition theme, ‘Movement’, being both dramatic and fun at the same time.

Four more A2 Photographers from Shrewsbury Sixth Form College were selected to have their images exhibited at the Festival, congratulations to Georgia Lennon, Sam Timmis, Olivia Bryant and Kirsty Bennett.

Hereford Photography Festival, now in its twenty-first year, is the UK’s longest running photography festival. For more information on the Festival 'Photofest' click here
