Travel by Bike

Shrewsbury  Sixth Form College is very well served by cycle routes from many parts of the town. Shrewsbury has been a Cycling Demonstration Town since 2008 and many off road and quiet residential road routes are available. Cycle Shrewsbury has produced a cycle map and guide which details all of the cycle/walking routes in the area. Copies of the map are free and are available from the College or from cycleshrewsbury.co.uk

  • Cycle route planning ~ You can find your best cycle route to college by using the journey planner on the Cycle Shrewsbury website (www.cycleshrewsbury.co.uk)
  • Plan your journey section ~ Just enter your home postcode and then the college’s postcode – SY1 1RX and the tool will calculate your route. You can choose the quietest, quickest or most recreational route! Instructions are very detailed, so it is often simpler to print off the map of the suggested route ~ map
  • Cycle Storage ~ There is storage for 100 bikes at college and students and staff are invited to make use of these facilities. Bicycles should be securely padlocked and are brought to college at your own risk. We suggest they are insured under your household policy.

Shrewsbury Sixth Form College is easily accessible by public transport. Hundreds of our students travel to and from college on the local bus services. Many local bus routes stop on Barker Street, very close to the Study Centre, and the Bus Station is just a short walk away along Smithfield Road. Click here for a map of bus routes in Shrewsbury.
